FAQs

What are MCTs?

MCTs are Medium-Chain Triglycerides or medium chain fatty acids. Coconut naturally contains the full range of MCTs (C6, C8, C10, C12). MCTs are more efficiently used as fuel and minimally stored as fat. Studies show that MCTs are easier to digest and more rapidly absorbed than Long Chain Triglycerides, making them a preferred choice for those looking for efficient energy.

What is CBD?

CBD, cannabidiol, is one of over 100 natural compounds from the cannabis plant, but it’s most often derived from hemp. It’s known for its enormous therapeutic potential and appears to play the most significant role in the plant’s benefits. While like THC, CBD is a cannabinoid, it is non-psychoactive, meaning you won’t get “high”.

How does CBD work?

CBD works by acting on the endocannabinoid system, a biological system that helps regulate physiology, mood, the immune system and the everyday experience. In an optimal state, the body naturally produces signals to self-regulate, but signs of discomfort, like stress and inflammation, can disrupt it’s ability to do so. Enter CBD. It’s a safe, natural way to calm the body and bring it back to homeostasis.

Full spectrum, broad spectrum and CBD isolate. What's the difference?

Full spectrum, or “whole plant extract”, consists of cannabidiol (CBD) and its accompanying phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. The synergistic relationship between these natural compounds creates an “entourage effect”, magnifying the natural benefits of the plant.

Broad spectrum CBD has a full spectrum profile but the THC is removed. In a broad spectrum product, multiple phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are preserved; therefore, it can still deliver the enhanced benefits of the “entourage effect”.

CBD isolate is exactly what it sounds like – the isolated form of the cannabinoid. During the extraction process, all other plant compounds, including phytocannabinoids like THC, terpenes and flavonoids are removed.

What is the difference between Hemp and Cannabis?

Hemp is of the same genus as Cannabis, but contains less than 0.3% THC. To legally grow industrial hemp, it must test below 0.3% THC in dry weight. Humans have grown hemp for thousands of years and it’s one of the strongest, most durable, natural soft fibers on this planet. This makes hemp useful for a wide variety of things like paper, fuel, oils, medicine, clothing, housing, plastic, rope, and even food – like hemp milk and hemp hearts!

How much CBD should I use?

Unfortunately, due to FDA regulations, we cannot recommend a specific dosage. We encourage each customer to experiment with different dosages and evaluate the effect.

The best serving size will be determined by each user’s metabolism and/or existent deficiencies of the endocannabinoid system. No different than being deficient in Vitamin D, our bodies cannabinoid receptors experience deficiencies. It may take several doses for each individual to find his/her own daily cannabidiol intake for efficacy. Our motto, start low and go slow!

Does CBD get me 'high'?

No, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not get you ‘high’. Users may feel relaxed but not high.

Will the Cured Nutrition products show up on a drug test?

It is possible to test positive on a drug test from using full spectrum hemp products, despite the trace amounts of THC.

For those who may be concerned, Cured Nutrition offers THC free options, like Cured Nutrition's Classic Mint Oil.

Does CBD react with any medications?

Always consult a qualified medical professional regarding the use of any new CBD supplements.

Are Cured Nutrition products 3rd party tested?

Third-party testing of hemp-derived CBD products is not a requirement by law, but it can be an important indication of quality and is the key understanding the potency and purity of a product. Each Cured product is third-party tested for the absence of harmful contaminants like microbials, pesticides and heavy metals. Fully aligned with complete transparency, we’ve published the details directly on the Cured Nutrition website.

Test results can be found here.

Where does Cured Nutrition hemp come from?

Hemp is a bio-accumulator, meaning it has the ability to absorb both the good and the bad from the air, water, and soil in which it’s grown. This makes it vital to ensure your CBD products come from organically grown hemp that can be traced back to a farm here in the US. Thankfully, we don’t look far. Cured Nutrition hemp is locally sourced from partner farms right here in Cured's neighborhood. Pure, Colorado-grown bliss.

Are Cured Nutrition products legal?

In the US, CBD derived from industrial hemp is considered a dietary supplement and is legal to purchase and ship nationwide. All of our American industrial hemp CBD plants are grown and distributed in full compliance with the State of Colorado, as well as in full federal compliance with §7606 of the 2014 US Farm Bill.
